Hemp Trials by Rodale Institute
Tara Caton, research coordinator of the Rodale Institute, spoke to a conference in Oregon about their trials using Hemp in crop rotations. She explained how industrial hemp has great promise to regenerate soil, due to its high growth rate, ability to crowd out weeds and huge root mass. And it's also a cash crop. It fits well when followed by wheat or rye. Rodale hemp trials are starting the third year in Pennsylvania.
Caton spoke at the Northwestern Vegetable and Berry Farmer's Conference in Clackamas, Oregon on Jan 29 and 30.
